Katbert, born Mikhail Korumenko, was born and currently resides in Russia in the city of Rostov-on-Don. He has been involved with music for much of his life. He went to a music school at a young age to study the piano. He progressed through the classics and then moved on to the guitar. The guitar was something more interesting to him because he was able to play and create music with much more freedom than he was afforded in his formal piano lessons. He was formerly in a rock group where he played guitar and performed vocals. The group moved more into an electronic sound because of the creativity and boundless spirit of the music. He began to infuse electronic elements into classical music and then gradually began producing his own tracks with inspiration from the classical greats like Bach. His goal is to connect the beauty of classical sounding music with the feelings and direction of modern electronic music. Mikhail's theory is that music only meaningfully exists when others are able to hear it, and this is the mindset he operates under when he is producing. Katbert's versatile tracks are perfect for listening to alone, in a club, or in film soundtracks. Look for this artist's tracks to be featured on Division X's vinyl albums in 2008.
